November 2023 Writing Update

I finally took the advice of some of my favorite author friends on TikTok and invested in Scrivener. I’ve been a Microsoft Word woman for decades and—as an elder(ly) Millennial—have revealed in the simplicity of it since I learned it in the 90’s in keyboarding class.

Alas, the complexity of editing a fiction novel is bringing me around to the necessary evil of learning new software. As a visual person, I must say that I’m really diggin’ the Corkboard function and I’m hopeful it will help wrangle my ADHD brain into submission.

Editing is both an exciting and daunting task. Reliving the story in its complete form is exhilarating! But… holy guacamole, it’s a lot to do. Anyone who’s been through the drafting stages for themselves and survived, I salute you.

Wish me luck… and send some chips to go with that guacamole.
